Patches Backing Instructions

Choosing the right backing is just as important as selecting the patch itself. Each backing option is designed for a specific application, whether you need a permanent attachment, temporary use, or easy removal. Follow the care and usage instructions below to get the best performance from your patch backing.

No Backing

Application

No backing patches are designed to be sewn directly onto garments, bags, hats, or other fabric items.

Installation Instructions

Position the patch where desired and securely stitch around the edges using a sewing machine or hand stitching.

Care Instructions

Machine washable using cold or warm water. Follow the care instructions for the garment.

Plastic Backing

Plastic Backing

Application

Plastic backing provides additional support and helps patches maintain their shape. These patches still require sewing for attachment.

Installation Instructions

Sew the patch securely around the border. The plastic backing is not adhesive and should not be ironed directly onto garments.

Care Instructions

Wash garments on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. Avoid excessive heat when drying.

Iron On Backing

Iron - On Backing

Application

Iron-on backing offers a quick and convenient way to attach patches to most cotton, polyester, and cotton-blend fabrics.

Installation Instructions

Place the patch in the desired position, cover it with a pressing cloth, and apply firm pressure with a hot iron for 20–30 seconds. Allow the patch to cool completely before use.

Care Instructions

Wait at least 24 hours before washing. Wash inside out using cold water and avoid high-heat drying.
